Introducing Mellow Party – Performing on Saturday 27 June 2026 on the Scottish Citylink Discovery Stage.

Mellow Party are a Lowlander alternative folk band whose music blends storytelling, humour and heartfelt connection. Drawing inspiration from a wide and eclectic mix — from Robert Burns and The Proclaimers to Simon & Garfunkel, Flatt & Scruggs and even Flight of the Conchords — their sound feels both familiar and refreshingly original.

The band’s debut release paid tribute to comedy legend Billy Connolly for the Friends of the People’s Palace, receiving BBC Radio Scotland airplay after being passed directly to the Big Yin by actor Gavin Mitchell. Momentum continued with If It Gets You Where You’re Going, named BBC Radio Scotland Single of the Week in April 2023, before the band headed to New York for Tartan Week, performing at venues including Club Cumming, Bryant Park and the Sony Music Hall.

In 2024, Stand In The Moment earned Mellow Party further recognition, leading to Artist of the Week honours with The Scotsman and a Number One spot in the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart. Their debut album The Love You Have Inside Of You Is All That You Truly Own, released in 2025, features multiple BBC Radio Scotland Singles of the Week alongside new material showcasing the band’s collaborative spirit.

Their single Go On Yourself, recorded with the Dumfries Community Choir, reached the UK Top 50 and featured on ITV News during the Euros — a testament to the band’s ability to connect far beyond the stage.
