One of the things Heartland Festival has become known for is supporting emerging Scottish artists through the Scottish Citylink Discovery Stage.

For the first time, the Discovery Stage will run across all three days of Heartland 27, creating even more opportunities for talented artists to perform in front of thousands of festivalgoers.

Since its introduction three years ago, the Scottish Citylink Discovery Stage has showcased hundreds of performers, with several artists progressing to the Main Stage while others have gone on to develop successful careers within the music industry. It has become a genuine platform for discovering some of Scotland’s most exciting new talent.

The expansion means that Heartland 27 will now feature 40+ artists performing across two stages over three days, giving festivalgoers even more live music to enjoy as part of their Early Bird ticket.

The response from artists has once again been incredible. In just the first two weeks since applications opened for Heartland 27, we have already received 103 applications from artists hoping to perform on the Scottish Citylink Discovery Stage. That number is expected to grow significantly before applications close.

Marion McDonald, Discovery Stage Artist Liaison, said:

“The Discovery Stage has been a huge success since Heartland began, and the feedback we receive every year is fantastic. I’m seeing comments everywhere from people who have discovered new artists because they saw them first at Heartland.

The number of applications continues to grow each year, and I could easily fill the stage for a whole week! Expanding the Discovery Stage to three days is a fantastic move because it gives even more talented Scottish artists the chance to perform and be discovered.”
