Celebrating Scottish Artists at Heartland Festival

by: Simon Clark

29 January 2026

From day one, our vision for the Heartland Festival has been clear – to celebrate the incredible music coming out of Scotland, and to give Scottish artists a platform to shine in the heart of this beautiful country.

In 2024, we welcomed 24 Scottish artists across our two stages. In 2025, we raised that number to 25, with a fully Scottish line-up. And now, in 2026, we’re proud to say that 32 out of the 33 artists performing at Heartland Festival are Scottish – that’s 97% of our line-up across three days.

We’ve got 14 Scottish artists on our Main Stage, 14 more on our Discovery Stage, and four performing on the Friday night line-up of ‘An Evening with Marti Pellow’. The only exception is Starsailor – a band we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to welcome to Pitlochry.

We’ve always believed in giving a platform to the talent on our doorstep. Scotland is full of incredible musicians and rising stars, and it’s a privilege to host so many of them each year.

From household names to emerging artists, Heartland is a place where local talent stands proudly in the spotlight.

We believe this commitment is one of the reasons we’ve now been shortlisted for Festival of the Year 2025 at the Scottish Live Music Awards – and that recognition belongs to every artist, attendee, and supporter who has helped make Heartland what it is today.

This is Scotland’s festival – and we’re just getting started.
