[ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT] – Ellijai
by: Simon Clark
Introducing Ellijai – Performing on Saturday 27 June 2026 on the Scottish Citylink Discovery Stage
Born and raised in Scotland, Ellijai is a rising alt-pop artist whose connection to music runs deep. As the daughter of a respected singer-songwriter, she grew up side-stage, absorbing the atmosphere, emotion, and creative energy of live performance from a young age. She wrote her first song at seven, performed at festivals by thirteen, and has spent her teenage years refining a sound that feels both bold and beautifully vulnerable.
Her music blends alt-pop, dark-pop and indie rock, driven by lyrics that explore identity, resilience and the messy reality of growing up. It’s a sound that hints at Billie Eilish, Wolf Alice and Olivia Rodrigo, yet remains distinctly her own — emotionally raw, atmospheric, and unfiltered in all the right ways.
Supported early by BBC Introducing, Ellijai has already released a series of striking singles, including her debut Floating in the Flood, and is currently working towards her first full-length project for 2026. On stage, she performs with fearless authenticity — expressive, dynamic and deeply connected to every lyric.
Ellijai’s momentum is undeniable, and her appearance at Heartland offers the perfect chance to see an artist on the cusp of a breakout moment.
Catch Ellijai on the Scottish Citylink Discovery Stage on Saturday 27 June 2026.
