About David Delinquent & The IOU’S
Punk Rock Troubadour/Podcaster David Delinquent had taken a year off from music completely until he started writing songs again. He'd been playing shows all over the country in his punk rock band DELINQUENTS and coming back after the pandemic well and truly burnt him out.
He started jamming his new sound and songs with Gordon McNally formerly of The Getdowns/Th13ves, friend Scott Sweeney who had originally played in Dundonian punk band DELINQUENTS with David not long before adding old friend and axe slinger Jason Paterson who also fronts Pop-Punkers Chin Up.
The band started to write pop songs with very loud guitars and a punk attitude to them before having Saxophonist and Discovery Music Alumni Bonnie Ross join the fray thus completing this full fledged I.O.U's line up. For their brand of 'pop' n 'roll' David takes a huge inspiration from a rock' n 'roll background for his songwriting, citing The Wildhearts, Status Quo, Slade, Big Country, Oasis and
Manic Street Preachers as influences.
The band have released three singles to date with their fourth 'Time of My Life' receiving extensive airplay on Amazing Radio, Camglen Radio and a spot on BBC Introducing.
In their small but fruitful time together they have played festivals all over the UK, shared dates with iconic punk band The Vapors and gain more and more attention each show they seem to show up at.
The band release another single this autumn and aim to start recording their debut album by the end of 2024.
Heartland Festival's Artist Liaison, Marion McDonald said "I was delighted when David Delinquent & IOU's agreed to come back for the Heartland Festival 2025. Their energetic set at this year's festival was extremely well received and they fully deserve to be up on the Main Stage for 2025. I cannot wait to see them next June"
